Our Medical Model, tuned to the exam room
Veterinary transcription asks a lot from speech technology. It has to capture specialist terminology, drug names, breed names, procedures, and multi-speaker consults in real time, often in rooms that were never designed for clean audio.
Speechmatics' Medical Model reaches 93% accuracy, with 50% fewer keyword errors and 17% fewer word errors than the next best system.
Add breed names, drug brands, procedure terms, and practice-specific language to Custom Dictionary, so your product recognizes the words that matter from the first dictation.
Why veterinary software teams build on our model
Why veterinary software teams build on our model
Veterinary software needs speech technology that works in real practice, not just clean demos.
Speechmatics combines accuracy, global language coverage, and deployment options that fit the way practices already work.

Speaker diarization
Know who said what. Speechmatics captures the words and labels the speakers, so consult notes are easier to parse, structure, and organize.
Low connectivity shouldn’t mean lost transcription
Veterinary care does not always happen inside a well-connected clinic.
Microbatching keeps accurate veterinary transcription running on farm visits, in mobile clinics, and anywhere the signal drops.
Built on a model with 50% fewer clinical keyword errors than the next best provider, Speechmatics gives veterinary software teams a reliable speech-to-text layer across 55+ languages.
Proven performance, backed by data.
Clinical transcription has little room for guesswork.
Names, symptoms, dosages, procedures, and instructions all need to be captured accurately, because every error creates more work downstream.
Speechmatics real-time transcription produces 25% fewer errors than Microsoft and 70% fewer than Deepgram.

Speechmatics models are built for specialist language, including clinical shorthand, drug names, procedures, and domain-specific terms.
For veterinary terms that general speech engines often miss, such as breed names, drug brands, procedure codes, or practice-specific phrases, add them to Custom Dictionary to improve recognition from the first dictation.
Yes. Speechmatics is built with privacy and security in mind. We do not log data by default, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Yes. Speechmatics is designed to understand diverse voices across language, accent, and dialect.
That matters for veterinary teams working with multilingual colleagues, international specialists, and clients from different backgrounds.
Yes. Speechmatics provides an API that can slot into existing software workflows with minimal setup.
Whether you are building a veterinary scribe, pushing notes into a practice management system, or auto-populating clinical records from consult audio, Speechmatics provides the accurate voice data layer behind the experience.
Speechmatics provides the accurate real-time transcription your application can use to generate structured documentation.
Your AI layer can turn those transcripts into SOAP notes, discharge summaries, or referral letters in the format your practice needs.
With fewer keyword errors in clinical terminology, the transcript is cleaner before downstream automation begins.
Vets lose hours to notes, often after appointments are over.
Speechmatics captures consults in real time, so documentation starts while the conversation is happening. That means fewer manual corrections, less after-hours catch-up, and more time focused on care.
